Changing the Culture Around Mental Health:
It's Way Past Time
May 1, 2024
8:30 - 10:00 a.m.
Coffee and light refreshments will be served
Mental health is critical to our ability to form strong relationships, cultivate personal well-being, contribute to our community, and succeed professionally. Despite the central role that mental health plays in all our lives, its importance is often under appreciated. The stigma that often surrounds mental illness can cause individuals and families to struggle alone. It can also prevent the wider community from recognizing the extent and nature of mental health challenges. Building understanding and developing solutions require open discussion.

To that end, the Greater Monadnock Collaborative, in partnership with the Friends of the Cheshire County Recovery Court and Monadnock Family Services, will host a morning of education with three esteemed speakers:
- Phil Wyzik, President and CEO of Monadnock Family Services, the community mental health center which, for over 100 years, has been a source of health and hope for people of the region.
- John Broderick, retired NH Supreme Court Chief Justice, will speak of his personal experience with the challenges of mental illness as well as his 7-year journey traveling across the state speaking about the issues of mental health in 360 schools to over 115,000 students.
If you or someone you know are experiencing a mental health emergency, contact 988 anytime day or night for immediate assistance. Help is available 24/7. If you are in New Hampshire but do not have a 603 area code, contacting the current rapid response line at 833-710-6477 is still the best option to get connected quickly to local crisis support.
