Building a Thriving Workforce
Delegation Hall: Cheshire County Chambers
Using the latest unemployment rate of 2.8%, Cheshire County has roughly 1,100 people currently looking for work, nowhere near enough to fill the more than 3300 full-time positions in the healthcare, manufacturing, and education sectors that are available within a 35-mile radius of Keene (indeed.com). When looking at all open full-time positions, the number jumps to more than 4000.
The Greater Monadnock Collaborative is committed to helping the businesses and organizations of the Monadnock Region recruit and retain a modern workforce, ensuring our employers remain and thrive here well into the future. Julie Schoelzel will present the data that got us here, the work we've already completed, and a vision for how we can create a viable economic future for local employers. Together, we can engage our local business leaders with our school-age residents, from 8th grade through college, welcome back those who have left to seek opportunity elsewhere, and introduce ourselves to the the next generation living just beyond our corner of Southwest New Hampshire.
The presentation will start at 8:40 am and last about 45 minutes, with questions and discussion to follow. Light refreshments will be served.
