The Role

As a Direct Support Professional I – Paraeducator, you will provide hands-on, one-on-one support to students with autism and complex disabilities. Working closely with teachers and clinical staff, you’ll help implement individualized education and behavior plans while creating a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment.

Crotched Mountain School & Village provides specialized education and residential programming for students ages 5–21 with significant needs. Our students require individualized support, and our team is committed to helping each student build skills, confidence, and independence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support students throughout the school day in classroom and campus activities
  • Assist with IEPs and behavior plans
  • Reinforce learning and daily living skills through one-on-one support
  • Promote social skills, communication, and independence
  • Maintain a safe, consistent, and positive environment
  • Collaborate with teachers and a multidisciplinary team

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Experience with autism or developmental disabilities preferred
