Director of Education- Historical Society of Cheshire County

Location: Keene, NH

The Historical Society of Cheshire County is a non-profit educational organization dedicated to collecting, preserving and communicating the history of Cheshire County in the Monadnock Region of southwest New Hampshire. 

The Director of Education is responsible for developing, overseeing, and evaluating the Society’s educational and public programs for K-12 students, family audiences, and adult visitors. The Director of Education manages the day-to-day work of the Education Department staff. This position serves to meaningfully engage and cultivate new and long-term relationships with community groups and local audiences. 

This is a full-time position reporting to the Executive Director. Competitive compensation will include health insurance allowance and retirement savings plan eligibility.  The salary for this role is $60,000 per year. 

This position requires relevant education in historical administration or a related field.  Excellent leadership skills as well as written and verbal communication skills are required.  The Director of Education should be highly self-motivated and a team player, have an attention to detail, have planning and organizational skills, and a demonstrated track record of building relationships and expanding programs.
