Making Community Connections Charter School (MC2) Board Trustee

Making Community Connections Charter School (MC2), located in Keene, NH, is seeking new volunteer members to join the Board of Trustees. Trustees are responsible for ensuring that the academic program of MC2 is successful, that the school's program and operation are faithful to the terms of its charter, and that the school is a sustainable organization.

Applicants should support the mission and purpose of MC2 and be willing to keep it clearly in focus. Trustee selection will be based on personal and professional background and a commitment to the school’s mission, support, and sustainability. MC2 has particular interest in applicants with backgrounds in finance, development, business, education, and/or governance.
Time Commitment: Approximately 8-10 hours per month toward Board service which includes attending a monthly Board meeting (2 hours), participating on one or more Board committees and in annual training, reading materials, preparing for meetings, attending events at the school, assisting with fundraising, and other ambassador tasks as needed.
Responsibilities:

Select, manage, and evaluate the Executive Director and maintain their job description

Oversee and approve contract negotiation and renewal for the Executive Director

Ensure effective organizational planning

Ensure adequate resources and manage them effectively

Monitor and strengthen the programs and services

Enhance MC2's public standing

Ensure legal and ethical integrity and maintain accountability

Recruit and orient new Board members and assess Board performance
