FIREFIGHTER/PARAMEDIC/AEMT/EMT
The Keene Fire Department is seeking applications from candidates for the positions of Firefighter (FF)/Paramedic, FF/AEMT, FF/EMT or Paramedic!
The Keene Fire Department consists of personnel that work 24-hour shifts who respond to emergency calls to protect life and property and perform skilled work including but not limited to; fire suppression, technical rescue, vehicle extrication and provide medical care to sick or injured. Candidates must possess the ability to operate in stressful situations.
NEW CAREER FIREFIGHTER pay ranges:
- FF/EMT $22.44/hour
- FF/AEMT $24.13/hour
- FF/Paramedic $26.25/hour and eligible for hiring incentives up to $4,000.
- Paramedic Only $25.00/hour, eligible for hiring incentives up to $2,000 and will be required to obtain FF2 Certification within the 12-month probationary period.
CAREER FIREFIGHTER RATES on a six-step schedule range are as follows:
- Firefighter/EMT/AEMT $26.83- $32.63/hour
- Firefighter/Paramedic $28.21- $34.02/hour

Applicants must meet State of NH Administrative Rule 701 for Firefighter Entrance Requirements. Successful completion of CPAT or a lateral transfer of full-time career personnel pursuant to Administrative Rule 703.01 will be accepted. Candidates must possess a high school diploma or equivalent and a valid driver's license. Minimum requirements for candidates without paramedic credentialing are: NH or Pro-Board Certified Firefighter Level I and Nationally Registered EMT. Successful candidates must be able to attain NH Providers License at time of hire.
