Overview
Rise for baby and family seeks a qualified independent contractor to serve as a Project Assistant for the NBRC-funded Complete Pathway to Career initiative. This position will provide administrative, financial, and organizational support to the Project Manager and project partners.

The Project Assistant will play a key role in maintaining project records, coordinating payments and invoices, tracking participant activities, supporting meetings and communications, and ensuring documentation is maintained for grant compliance and reporting purposes.

Project Background
The Complete Pathway to Career initiative supports the recruitment, retention, education, and advancement of the early childhood workforce in Cheshire County. Activities include credential attainment, higher education pathways, mentoring, professional development, and workforce supports designed to strengthen the regional early childhood system.

Scope of Work
The Project Assistant will work closely with Rise staff, project partners, contractors, and participants to support day-to-day project operations.
Responsibilities may include:
• Receive, organize, and track invoices related to project activities.
• Coordinate payment requests and supporting documentation with Rise staff.
• Maintain participant records and project databases.
• Track project activities, deliverables, and deadlines.
• Assist with data collection and reporting activities.
• Maintain project files and documentation for grant compliance.
• Support communication with participants, contractors, mentors, and educational institutions.
• Assist with purchasing, reimbursement requests, and project records.
• Support preparation of reports for Rise leadership and grant funders.
• Perform other project-related administrative tasks as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications 
Applicants should possess: 

• High school diploma.
• Administrative or program coordination experience.
• Experience with invoice tracking, recordkeeping, bookkeeping support, or financial administration preferred.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and electronic recordkeeping systems.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Contract Terms 
This is an independent contractor position funded through the NBRC Catalyst Program. The anticipated contract period will extend through the grant period, subject to funding availability and satisfactory performance.  Compensation will be negotiated based on scope of work.

• Relevant experience and qualifications.

• Experience supporting grant-funded or nonprofit projects.
• Financial tracking and recordkeeping experience.
• References.
• Cost effectiveness.
