Program Support Staff

Role:

Program Support Staff provides support utilizing Intentional Peer Support training. Duties may include group facilitation, community outreach, driving, maintaining a healthy environment, help with events, support of members and residents and floor hours for Monadnock Area Peer Support Agency.  This position reports to and is evaluated by the Program Director.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Community Outreach
    • Distribute brochures, newsletters and other marketing materials.
    • Engage in outreach including outreach calls
    • Perform administrative duties, such as overseeing mailings, organizing travel, entering log notes or other tracking logs.
    • Set up and oversee tables at outreach locations
    • Document all outreach efforts
  • Group Facilitation, Member Support and Floor Coverage
    • Facilitate groups as scheduled or requested by the Program Director, using the Intentional Peer Support model
    • Follow the guidelines of each group and ensure other participants do the same
    • Document notes after each group on the facilitator log
    • Provide one-on-one support to members as needed and as time allows
    • Assist in peer support activities related to guests and members
    • Facilitate community lunches and other events
    • Monitor the community areas of the center to ensure that members and guests are following the rights and responsibilities of MPS
    • Encourage members and guests to clean up after themselves
    • Answering the phone in a respectful and professional manner
    • Welcoming guests and members in person, facilitate tours of the facility with first time visitors and assist with membership enrollment
    • Cultivate mutually supportive relationships and handle conflicts, complaints and incidents using the principles of Intentional Peer Support
    • Ensure mail pick up and drop off
  • Other Responsibilities
    • Maintain confidentiality at all times per the Employee Manual
    • Maintain knowledge of area resources and provide them to residents, guests and members as needed
    • Attend appropriate meetings and trainings as directed and required
    • Handle conflict, complaint, and incidents using the principles of peer support
    • Maintain a safe and clean work environment
    • Complete incident reports in a timely manner and submit them to Program Director and/or Director of Mission Impact
    • Demonstrate a commitment to the mission and values of Monadnock Peer Support and support a positive image of the organization in all settings
    • Serve as an ambassador of the organization to other community groups
    • Participate in a quarterly co-reflection with supervisor and receive a yearly review based on your hire date
    • Communicate regularly with supervisor
    • Other duties as asked or required by supervisor
 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 1-2 years of experience in a related field and/or lived experience preferred
  • Peer support training preferred
  • Knowledge of area community resources
  • Experience with Microsoft Suite and some computer skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good reporting and technical skills.
  • Valid Driver’s License
