Kurn Hattin Homes for Children Announces Staff Appointments

Westminster, VT – Kurn Hattin Homes for Children is pleased to welcome two new staff members to its team. Their experience and dedication will strengthen the warm, supportive environment that makes Kurn Hattin a special place for children to learn, grow, and thrive.

Tehya Martin has accepted the position of prep cook with the Kurn Hattin dining services team. Tehya says she was drawn to the organization because of the kind, hardworking staff and the great students they support every day. With experience as a substitute teacher in the public school system, Tehya understands the importance of connection, communication, and compassion when it comes to interacting with children. She says, “Whether it’s a teacher dedicating hours in the classroom or a friendly adult spending a few minutes serving dinner, every individual in a child’s life can make a difference.” True to the Kurn Hattin mission, Tehya is looking forward to getting to know the people and becoming part of the community that makes a positive difference in young lives.

Gabrielle “Gabby” Miceli has joined the Kurn Hattin residential support team, where she will focus on afterschool, weekend, and summer programming. Her professional background is rooted in service to others, with the welfare of children at the heart of her work. Gabby has previously worked at the New Hampshire Department of Children, Youth, and Families; Monadnock Family Services in Keene, NH; and volunteered at Cooper’s Crossroads, a nonprofit organization offering farm and equine-based activities centered on social and emotional learning. Gabby is looking forward to working with the Kurn Hattin children in a recreational setting and is also eager to support the families served by the organization. She says, “I’m excited about making connections in the community, finding ways to introduce our kids to new experiences and opportunities, and encouraging them to try new activities.”
